Julia Ruggier, a certified social worker, joined the Door Is Open staff in 1997.
Her focus was to expand the volunteer program and develop programs specific to the
emergency needs of the growing client
base.

and for seniors which have offer a networking opportunity through a special luncheon,
where the patrons are invited to be served, and are given information from invited guest
speakers around health issues or community resources that would be beneficial to their
needs.
