From the time that the CWL was established at St. Joseph the Worker Parish five years ago, its members knew that its works of charity would extend beyond the Year of Mercy. Their desire to serve the most vulnerable in our city led them to The Door is Open. This Christmas, for the fifth year, the wonderful ladies of the CWL arranged to collect donations from their membership. They met up at the home of one of their members to package 250 Christmas cookie gift bags which they then took to The Door is Open to distribute with their other donations of toques, scarves, toiletries, jackets, and other clothing.  The ladies also love their January tradition of coming to The Door is Open to prepare and serve a hot lunch to our guests. They explain that they are inspired by Mother Teresa’s words: “The fruit of love is service, which is compassion in action”. We are grateful for the generous sharing of their time and talents, and also for their donations to support our programs. Thank you to the ladies of the CWL of St. Joseph the Worker!
